Websites that showed Outrage - Mattel Recall Part Deux
I found a lot of blogs that mentioned the recalls, but few that really railed against China, Mattel, or greed for it. If you know of any where outrage or at least disgust was expressed I would like to add them to this list.

A big thank you to Adrienne, who writes the Baby Toolkit blog for commenting in the GoodyBlog and referenceing this story from Thursday's McClatchy News - U.S. businesses share blame for China toy recall.

UPDATE: Rather than updating this single blog post every day - as more and more links arrive - I will post new links each day at the bottom of my articles and I will add them to a growing list on a Squidoo lens created just for this subject: Recall Outrage

I'd say Krissy at Speckblog summed it up.

Oops. I see she shared that with you in the previous post.

Yes but I should have included it in the list since comments don't get shared by RSS. Thanks for pointing that out.

Roger,

Nice job creating this list.

I'm not culturally enabled to express outrage very effectively, so opted for a stab at 'empowerment' instead... On the most basic level, what a parent wants to know is what he/she can do now to make sure Junior's not sucking down lead paint chips when he tries to eat his toy jeep; and then, perhaps, that global 'tidal wave' may follow and gain momentum, when the first panic response has time to stew and ripen. If you can wade through that mixed metaphor...

@ Jen - waded and survived the mixed metaphor. I also added your post to the list.

You're a scholar and a gentleman, Roger... and obviously a capable surfer! Seriously, I think this is a good and useful list; honoured to be included.

Thanks to you Jen,
Maybe I can get some more help in finding or, as one email communicator suggested that I was doing "calling out" some of the big blogs.

Is this the right time to ask for Diggs, Stumbles etc...?

This series of posts has doubled my average daily visits and increased my RSS readers by 30%. Virtually none of it from the social highlighting sources and almost all of it from people searching Google.

I'm not looking to be on a crusade, I just think the issue is about responsibility to see that suppliers deliver safe products. My blog is about leadership and management doing the right things, at the right time, for the right reason. If there is a better time to set the example, I don't know when that would be.

@ Anonymous - Thank you for the link. I found 3 other blogs and some great comments.

Thanks for the link - this is a great list, and I'm surprised you haven't found more parents blogging about this issue. Here are a few more for your list:

Now I must leave you and go back to the playroom to throw out some more junk.

Maybe if we buy fewer things we will find that what we choose to give will have more meaning.

One year for Christmas we decided that we would give each other only one gift and that it had to be hand made. Those are still the most valuable gifts we have ever received.
