10 Years and it still runs

Engadget had a post about new Dell laptops. They decided to use that opportunity to congratulate Dell and chastise Apple on their customer service.

I am about to go on the road and I will be taking my 10 year old Dell Lattitude again. This box has gone all over the world with me. I suppose I should get something newer but everyone I know who has ended-up with more troubles. My son's HP brokedown after 9 months. A friends Macbook after 10 months. To me, one of the best ways to serve your customers is to make a product that lasts. That is also a great way to build a solid brand.

When you start a business it is not always a good idea to buy the latest and greatest. Often what works is better than what is flashy. New cars cost more than a used car and take you to the same places. I know that there are times when cheap is expensive but frugal is usually prudent.
